Understanding, and later coming up with, complex and sophisticated sentences takes a great deal of structure knowledgability. Even native speakers of English achieve this level of English only after years of proper schooling, thousands of pages of extensive reading, and hundreds of hours of intensive writing.
Understanding a sentence means understanding its elements, the most important of which is the noun phrase.

Comprender, y posteriormente crear por uno mismo, oraciones complejas y sofisticadas requiere un amplio conocimiento de la estructura de un idioma. Incluso los anglófonos nativos alcanzan este nivel solamente tras años de adecuada preparación en la escuela, miles de páginas de lectura extracurricular y cientos de horas de entrenamiento en redacción.
Entender una oración significa comprender sus elementos, el màs importante de los cuales es la frase nominal o frase sustantiva.
